Here are some of the common questions we get asked:
Do you use digital cameras or traditional film cameras?
We use the latest professional digital SLR cameras from Canon. The quality of digital now outweighs that of traditional film cameras with the added advantage of being able to keep a check on the results as the day progresses. (We don't lose our films either then!)
How many photographers attend my event or project?
Normally we supply one photographer for any given project. Please contact us if you're looking for additional support.
How soon should we book?
We suggest that you book as soon as possible, to ensure we have a photographer available to cover your event. Of course, if you wish, we can meet prior to your event for a no obligation discussion of your requirements.
Do you require a deposit?
For major assignments and events, yes, we ask for a deposit of £50 to be paid in order to secure your booking, with the balance to be paid anytime up to, and including 7 days before your event. This can be paid by cash, bank transfer, debit or credit card. We can also accept cheque payments, however, they must be received 14 days before your event to ensure full clearance takes place.
What contingency plans do you offer?
In the very unlikely event we experience equipment failure during your event, you can be rest assured that we carry a full back up emergency digital SLR kit to ensure we deliver, even if our primary equipment doesn't! Our vehicles have full and comprehensive breakdown cover, and should the situation be such that the photographer cannot attend on time utilising their own transport, we'll authorise them to use any other transport method necessary to get to you at the earliest opportunity. Once your shoot is complete, and our photographer has returned to base, the images from the cameras memory cards are transferred onto two separate hard disk drives, so that in case of failure, there will always be a backup copy available.
Do you offer black and white or sepia toned photography?
Yes, we can offer final toning of your pictures in any finish you prefer, or any mix. You may very well like a particular photograph in colour, sepia and black and white. You tell us what you want, and we'll deliver. We use one of the latest professional versions of Adobe Photoshop, and can adjust any given image in any way you wish.
What is reportage photography?
Reportage or photojournalism is where the photographer remains in the background capturing the natural atmosphere of your event from beginning to end. This has the advantage of allowing creativity, recording the magic of your event as it happens, whilst allowing you to spend more time with your guests. You may of course want some formal group shots as well, which we're more than happy to capture for you.
How many photographs do we get?
It really depends on the package that you choose. It will typically vary between 150 to 500 photographs. We specialise in producing superb quality images capturing the day.
Who retains copyright of the pictures taken?
Where your photographs are used for distribution amongst family and friends, we relinquish the copyright to you. The only exception, is where the photographs are used for commercial purposes. Should this be required, we can discuss potential options as deemed appropriate.
